There are two options for connecting your Alexa device with a Wi-Fi network. First, you can use the Alexa app to set up your device. To make your device work quickly, you will need to follow these steps. You can also connect the Alexa device using an app. We will share both methods in this article.
Notice: There may be many apps that are named Alexa app. However, only one Amazon Alexa App should be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. These screenshots were shared using iPhones, but the settings and interface are almost identical for Android phones.
How to connect Alexa to Wi-Fi – Using Alexa App
There are several steps to connect your Alexa devices like Echo and Echo dot with Wi-Fi. Let’s take a look at how to do the same with the Alexa app.
1. Downloading & Installing Alexa App
The Amazon Alexa app must be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. Only download from the official source. Open the Alexa app once you have downloaded it.
2. Signing up for Amazon Alexa
After you have opened the App, you will need to sign in with Amazon. You can also create an account from the app if you don’t already have one. You must also allow the App to function correctly by granting permissions.
3. Select your device using the Alexa app
After opening the App, select the Alexa device that you wish to use. To do this, click on the Devices option at the bottom of the app.

After you have entered the devices section of the Alexa app setup tap on Echo & Alexa.

Select the Alexa device you want – Echo Plus or Echo dot. If you don’t see the device of your choice, click on the All devices option. If your Alexa device doesn’t appear in the list, you can reset it.

Now you have selected the Alexa device from your devices list. Tap on the Alexa device to view its settings. This section includes settings such as wireless and connected devices. It also contains general information. Tap on the Wi-Fi label and then ‘Change’ in the wireless section.

You will find information about pressing the button and holding it when you tap on the change icon in the 6th Step. Hold the button down on the device. Echo smart speakers, such as Echo or Echo Plus, have an orange ring light that flashes during setup. After you have seen it, click the Continue button in the Alexa App.

How to Connect Alexa to Wi-Fi – Without the Alexa App
We’ll show you how to do it if the Alexa app isn’t installed on your phone. If you do not want to use the App, it’s your choice. A browser can be used to connect Alexa devices with the network. These steps will help you to achieve this scenario.
1. Use a web browser to log in to Amazon
The first step is to visit alexa.amazon.com in the browser of your choice (Google Chrome, Safari, etc.). Sign in using your Amazon account. You can also create an Amazon account from the same page if you don’t already have one.
2. Setup Alexa device
Click on the Settings link in the left sidebar. This will take you to the devices section. You can either list your Alexa devices that are already in use or create a new one.
3. Continue to set up the Alexa device
Select the device you wish to connect and then set it up. Based on your device, you can choose from Echo Dot or Echo Plus. Click on the Continue button to begin the setup. The Alexa device will turn orange when it is in setup mode. You might need to hold down the action button. Click on Continue once you see the orange light ring.

4. Pick the device’s Wi-Fi network
Next, you will need to choose the Wi-Fi network that you want from your MAC or PC. The operating system used to set up the Wi-Fi network can differ depending on whether it is Windows 10 or macOS. Amazon-XXX will display the network format. Click on Continue after you have connected to the network. After it is done, you’ll see the message “Your computer has been connected”.
5. Select the Wi-Fi network to use with Alexa.
You can choose the Wi-Fi network that you want to connect with your Alexa device. You can now enter the Wi-Fi password and click on connect. If you already have a network saved, this step can be skipped.
